Legalization of documents

Legalization of documents

Legalisation of documents allows official documents originating from one country to be recognized when presented in another country. Legalisation is a verification of the signature, the position of the signatory and the stamp in the document in cases of bearing the stamp applied on the document.

The Embassy of Lithuania in Hungary accepts for legalization documents issued by the countries of accreditation –the Republic of Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The documents must bear the legalization stamp of the authorized officer of the respective Embassy in Hungary.

Documents submitted for legalization have to be orderly and readable. If the document consists of few pages, they have to be affixed or sewn together. Each document is approved separately (e. g. diploma and its appendix are two (2) separate documents).

Documents are accepted in person or through an authorized representative; up to 3 documents can be submitted during 1 appointment.

For document presentation and pick up once legalised you have to book an appointment time

Consular fee
