VILNIUS ENERGY SECURITY CONFERENCE 2007

On 10-11 October 2007, Vilnius, capital of Lithuania, will host a high level energy conference. Invited to participate in the summit are heads of state and government from the Baltic and Black Sea regions, Central Asia, Russia, and EU member states, representatives of the European Union.

”Vilnius Energy security Conference 2007: Responsible Energy for Responsible Partners” will address the issues of global energy security and search for the guidelines for EU’s external energy policy.

The transatlantic energy dialogue, EU energy cooperation with Russia and Caspian and Black Sea regions as well as the development of the Baltic energy strategy will be the core issues for discussion at the conference.

The Vilnius Energy Security Summit will focus on issues topical not only for political leaders, but also for the private sector and academic community. Before the summit opens, a forum of energy experts of heads of energy companies will take place on 10 October 2007: Energy Security: Supply, Demand and Diversification, which will provide a platform to discuss important energy issues and establish a lively and meaningful dialogue. Invited to participate in the forum are leaders of major energy companies from the EU, the United States, Central Asia, Black and Baltic Sea regions, Russia and Ukraine as well as foreign ambassadors and representatives of non-governmental organizations.

Applications for accreditation received after 2 October 2007 will not be processed.
