Lithuanian Ambassador presented his letters of credence in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Bosnia and Herzegovina Mr. Vytautas Pinkus on the 24 of February, 2021, has presented his Letters of Credence to the Mr. Milorad Dodik, Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During a meeting after the ceremony, the Lithuanian Ambassador and the President of Bosnia and Herzegovina discussed, among other things, international and Western Balkans matters, as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina‘s aspirations to become a candidate country to the EU, migration problems, approach to NATO, impact of pandemic on the region and vaccination issues.

Lithuanian ambassador expressed his commitment to focus on the strengthening bilateral relations, particularly of economic links between the countries. V. Pinkus reiterated Lithuania’s support for Bosnia and Herzegovina‘s aspiration to become a member of EU.

Ambassador Vytautas Pinkus also met with Mr. Šefik Džaferović, the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with Mr. Nikola Špirić, the Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly, with Mr. Ahmet Halilović, Assistant Minister for Bilateral Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and with Mr. Almir Šahović, Assistant Minister for Multilateral Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ambassador V. Pinkus also payed visit to the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo where he met with the Head of the Delegation Ambassador Johann Sattler.

Lithuania and Bosnia and Herzegovina established diplomatic relations in 1992.
